Introducing ALL-NEW ‘Specialized® Bikes’ are available to rent, including new EV’s!

New mountain bikes and EVs (comfort bikes) designed by ‘Specialized®’ will enhance your exploration of Angel Island! Cruising on a bike or e-bike allows you to reach amazing parts of the island, normally too difficult to reach by foot. Riding out of Ayala Cove, you will border along tall trees and the Pacific coastline of Tiburon, San Francisco, and the East Bay. Be sure to stop by Camp Reynolds to look at the world's oldest standing group of Civil War Buildings. On the island’s East side, ride your bike to Quarry Beach—a beautiful expanse of sunny calm white sand. The paved perimeter road is the five (5) mile bike trail circling the island.

The electric assist feature of a specialized bike makes exploring diverse terrains, such as the hills and trails of Angel Island, more accessible and enjoyable. With the ability to effortlessly conquer challenging landscapes, you can expand your horizons and take on new cycling adventures that might have been daunting on a traditional bike. This enhanced exploration capability is a crucial motivator for investing in your specialized electric bike.

Go at your leisure on one of the most comfortable electric bikes on the market today. Efficient hybrid tires smooth out cracks and bumps. The relaxed upright position with ergonomic swept-back gull-wing handlebars and suspension makes for a cushioned, enjoyable ride. With four levels of assist power, you can easily climb hills while reaching top speeds of 20mph on flat terrain. (Speed limit on Angel Island is 15mph.)

You have your choice of renting from our fleet of quality bikes or e-bikes by the hour or for a full day. The bikes are offered on a first come first serve basis at the bike shed and cannot be reserved ahead of time. The location of the bike shed is a very short walk from the ferry landing in Ayala Cove. You can’t miss it. Bikes are due back to the bike shed by 3:00 pm on weekdays and 3:30pm on weekends.

Remember:

  • Riders under the age of 18 are required to wear a bike helmet (provided) and have a parent or guardian present to rent a mountain bike on Angel Island.

  • Riders must be 18 or older to rent an e-bike and must always wear a helmet.

  • Closed-toed/closed-heel shoes are required for all bike rentals, including E-Bikes.

SPECIALIZED® Mountain Bike Rates:
$16 per hour
$64 for a full day (including a helmet).

SPECIALIZED® EV:
$26 per hr / $99 for a full day (including a helmet).

Bikes are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
